VSBN is a partner in the Energy Star® Change a Light Campaign through our involvement with Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy's (DMME's) program.

VSBN is the Virginia state representative for the U.S. Department of Energy Rebuild America Program. The Rebuild Virginia program works with partnerships that include K-12 schools, universities, local governments, and commercial building owners who are working to improve energy efficiency, design high performance buildings, and operate facilities using efficient and environmentally sound products and practices.

VSBN has introduced the U.S. Department of Energy Building America Program to Virginia. Under this program, VSBN works with home builders to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact on demonstration homes.
